Parking lights won't turn off

I was not any time referring to the front fog lights. Those are controlled by a switch on the dash.
Assuming your car is a 944, and a right-hand drive (you're in England, right?), try this - with the car off and no key in the ignition, engage the right-turn directional. Get out of the car and check if you have a single taillight on - that would be the rear fog light. If you happen to have a left-hand drive car then engage your left directional instead.

I'm in Ireland but we get UK-spec cars because we're too small for anyone to make cars just for us.
I stand corrected on the standing lights: with the key out, the direction indicators light either the left or the right running light (the bulbs directly below the reverse lights).
My car has a switch on the dash for the rear fog lights. They're different bulbs from the running lights (fogs are on the top row to the inside of the reverse lights).
