Default GRR leaking antifreeze. Can someone tell me what this tube is called?

Well... as everyone knows im complainign and asking about problems basically every day here. dont know if this is my whole leak.. but i seem to have sprouted a leak on a hose. It is the hose that comes from the top of teh water pump, and goes aobut 3 inches or so, to a pipe that is bracketed above the exhaust manifold, which goes to the back of teh engine. right next to the oil filter is where the leak is. it's a pinhole leak that squirts the antifreeze right onto the side of the oil filter. blah.. anyone have one, or know where i can find it? i gotta drive it tomorrow... wondering if this is the source of my missing fluid? or maybe this just sprouted.. blah.

any help would be appreciated!

I would pull it off, and go to NAPA and see if they have a similar size hose (even if you have to cut down a radiator hose for another vehicle. Those guys are usually pretty good at matching stuff like this up.

Devon,

Check the other hoses, too. Chances are some of the others need to be replaced. The hose you need costs about $6. On early models, there's also a small hose from the engine to the heater control valve that's really cheap. If that one blows, the water drains into the clutch housing. Shipping may cost more than the hoses, so ordering the other small hoses may not increase shipping.

For post 85.5 944, In addition to 944.106.241.03 and the upper and lower radiator hoses, there are:

944.572.589.00 The hose on the other end of that tube (to heater core)
944.572.587.01 Heater core to heater valve
944.572.385.01 Heater valve to rear of head
928.574.573.03 Heater valve (optional, but while you're there...)
944.106.245.02 Coolant tank to radiator
951.106.249.01 Coolant tank to radiator

You may also need:
944.106.927.00 Connection
944.106.928.00 Sealing ring

Hose 951.106.249.01 connects to the radiator via the parts above, and they break easily when trying to remove the old hose.

Some of these numbers may have been superseded, I'm working from a "Parts and Technical Reference Catalog" published in 1996.
