improvised flywheel lock
LegoLand951,
Remember, I was talking about my improvised flywheel lock?
Well, here's a picture (see attached).
The two welds were enough to hold in place for the first two belt jobs.
I needed to add one nut (on the left side of the pic) to hold the gear in place on the third job. If you select the right nut, it will drop in there and not fall out, and it will hold the gear in place.
I have an old starter (with gears more rusted than not), that I could make another flywheel lock out of. Perhaps I could trade one with you for a usable starter (I just need the front section, like in the picture)?

I might actually be able to host a web site for us - I used to do it on my Linux server, just a personal site for myself, but if I can get off my lazy butt and actually reconfigure the Apache server I'd be glad to host it for you.

Legoland, are you still planning on having a part 2? This thread seemed to have died down and I'm wondering if the idea of a get together on May 15 died with it. If anyone knows if this is still going on, can you pm me the directions and when it's starting? Thanks.

No it did not die. James is coming with his car saturday and hopefully Danno will stay over friday night. I hope more people come this time and everyone welcomed. Bring munchies/beer/etc so we can have some fun. We may do Kelly's belts if time allows.

Hey guys, change of plans, I may be able to come afterall. I didn't get my car running soon enough to go to Laguna Seca. So if I'm staying south, I'd like to show up and learn! Kelly, I don't know the start time, I don't know anything. Ask Julie.

8:00 start is a good time. I couldn't get a car ready for the track since I worked on other people's cars for the last 3 weeks and did not have time. We may be working on 2 cars so an early start would be good.

Um, I'll try...I'm a night person, so I will attempt to be there by 9 or 10.
I have some new DVDs I could bring, though!

Whats up people? I'm currently about a mile from Marina Del Ray, so I would be down to meet up somewhere tomorrow. My friends and I are going to see hot water music at the troubador in west hollywood tomorrow night, so if any of you are into that sort of thing, you should go. I think I'm going to meet up with danno later at legoland's house...just waiting to hear back from him. Let me know what's up with tomorrow.
