Default OT: Quick Mustang GT question

I told a bud of mine that I'd teach him to change the oil in his car today, it's a 93 Mustang GT. I know a couple of people on here have owned these, any suggestions on what weight oil to put in that five liter monster?

I used to run 10W30 in my 5.0 LX, Mobil 1 synthetic. Ran very well and the car didn't use any oil. Never lost a race in that car
(Disclaimer: all races were bench races and not actually carried out )

The book says 5w30 on my 98 and my buddy's 95...I'd use 10w30 though, that's what I use in mine. It used to runr egular oil but I switched it to Mobil1 after I got it, no problems yet and it doesn't burn any.

Mine was a high-mile car and driven hard...I used 20w50 M1 (91 LX 5.0L) in So Cal. I lost a lot of races in that car, including to my VW Corrado that replaced it. lol.

I sold my '96 GT late last year ... used Cast 10w30. Sold it with about 110k on the clock.

At least my 5.0L timing belt, waterpump and tensioner didn't need to be replaced every 6 months and 2,500 miles. Hehe!

the book on my 93 camaro recommends 5/30, it had mobil 1 5/30 until the last change (35k miles) when my wrench put in 10/30 for the summer. it goes back to 5/30 after the summer, and stays that way.

With my 350 (thats 5.7 to you metric folks) producing 300+ hp i dont think i will be losing too many races to juiced 4 cylinders.

2.5k? That's a ticking time bomb!!! You'd better replace it quick! May as well replace the clutch, "while you're in there." hehe...just playin.

Thanks for responses everyone! The rain stopped us from doing it today, but at least we'll be ready with the oil and filter once the weather gets better.
