Default Heater hose replacement

I have an 83 NA and was going to replace the heater hoses that go through the firewall to the core. Is there a trick to ti? I can't see the hose clamps, almost looks like you have to pull the dash apart and the a/c out to access the hose clamps. Anybody done this on an early car?

"almost looks like you have to pull the dash apart and the a/c out to access the hose clamps."

What do you mean almost. That's exactly what you have to do.

Been there, done that. Do a search on Heater core.

Turns out the quickest easiest way is to insure the car, torch it, buy a new car.

Ted GA,

If you decide to do this, make sure you order a brand new heater core and install it as well. It is definitely something that should be changed at the same time.

Also, make sure to order factory hoses for this connection, check and double check that you have the right ones.

I'm getting a new (used) dashboard in a couple of days. I'll be the next one doing this (unless you go first).
