Default Why did they design it like that?

The fuse wiring...who in the right mind would wire the radio and brake booster together?

I was driving down my block f*ckin with the radio and I shorted something, next thing I know I have no power brakes.

I was too excited from finally fixing the clutch to finish installing the radio, it was just kinda hanging over the console. I know it's my fault but I still think it's a messed up design.

Ok, I'm done now.

The power brake booster is vacuum, there is NO electrical connection to it. It runs off the vacuum produced by the engine. Your problem is elsewhere.

Dal.

Yeah, power brakes have no electric connection like Dal said, but still have no idea what would cause both to go out at the same time. The brakes are most likely a vaccum leak or faulty booster....but neither of which would affect the electrics of the car....and the radio is obviously electrical....and in no way connected to the brakes.

figured it out, i had a vaccum hose disconnected. I'm just an idiot. What does the radio/booster mean (fuse #36 I believe). I just assumed it was the booster because they went out at the same time.

The 944 has the radio antenna embedded into the windshield. It does not have that great of a reception, and therefore the factory installed a antenna booster. It is normally under the dash behind the glovebox, about the size of a matchbox.

Wow! I'm an idiot, I never would have guessed though..It's getting late I better go to sleep before I start talking about more ignorant things like blinker fluid and altezzas.
