Default Climate Control replacement - Servo positions?

Cheers all!

When replacing the climate control, from what I understand, in order for it to function properly, the "flap" servos under the dash needs to be in certain "initial position" What are those position?

My unit never worked since I purchased the car in Jan of this year, but this was not a priority to me, since it had other, more important maintenance issues to be attended to. Only the fan speed control was working. I have a good, used unit that is "guaranteed was working" coming today, I want to make sure that I do everything right. My servos are fully functional, as outlined in this great thread https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...l-testing.html I tested them, all move with 12 volt battery and reversing the polarity.

Now I just need to know what position these should be at and what position the climate control levers should be before I connect the new unit in the car? Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Regards,
D

Ha, that’s very apropos. There’s so many things that can prevent it from working.

Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it!

Will clean up the "new/used" unit this eve and will inspect it. Indeed, from what I've read, there can be multiple issues responsible for non-functioning unit, including the small inexpensive thermistors, will examine the original later, for now, just hope that I can get the new part to work, so I don't have to reach under the dash and manually move the hot/cold flap... I have saved few links for testing/evaluating and repairing some issues

This is what I used to fix my single speed fan issue

So, where does one begin? Second unit, was working in the car it was pulled from, and not working in mine, same symptoms:

Only fan speed **** operational. Sliders do nothing, defrost and rec not working, AC button does nothing... No servos are moving in any position of the climate control.

Is there some relay or module under the hood or elsewhere I can check? The chances of both climate controls being dead is rather unlikely, has to be something else...

For example, found another post - where is this 6 pin heater connector located, can't find it for the life of me, but appears that the owner has similar issue and how is this plug related to the climate control unit (since it does not plug into the ccu)?:

You can see that is just wasn't quite in far enough here.

So that appears to be fixed. Yay!...
