Hello all. First time posting here.
Well, odometer on my 1991 944 S2 is not working. However, speedometer is working. After searching the board, I found out that odometer gear is probably bad.
However, all the odometer gears I found on the internet are for pre-89 944s.
could someone give me an advise on this?

sounds like the gearwheel has been stripped.
generally your not suposed to re-set the trip counter whilst driving very fast. honest !

as for the gearwheel its a OEM part only

hmm, i don't know why they would be different. i changed the gear on mine about 3 months ago. pretty easy switch if you know how to remove the instrument cluster. check www.rennbay.com for their gear and instructions.

So is gearwheel different from odometer gear?
I searched few places including rennbay. However, their website says "All gears are for the non-cable driven odometers up to model year 1989" and my car is 1991....
So I figured my car has different setup???

I'm still looking for an answer to my odometer problem..... I know its probably the odometer gear..but I can't find one for my 1991 944 S2. All of the gears I found says they are for pre-89 944s.

Oh, sorry about that. The Rennbay gear should work with the S2 models as well.
But, the website is down for right now. Just check back tonight , it should be back up and running.
