Default Pulling dash question

Well, I'm still in my quest for a perfect Blue/Linen 944S2 dash or a dark blue 968 dash... alas, my quest for the holy grail continues. But, I have a question for those that might have done it....

How hard is it to pull the entire dash on a 944 turbo/S2/968? I've had the center console apart (and can do that in minutes flat), but the dash I'm not sure about. Any input appreciated.

Also, my other reason for asking is... I need to replace the windscreen. Is it better to wait till I have a dash in hand (i.e. is it going to be much easier to replace the dash with the windshield removed???), or does it not really matter.

Any input appreciated.
