Ball Joints- Was there ever a replaceable version with 19mm studs?
Looking for the early style (pre 85/2) 944 ball joint but with a 19mm diameter stud (normal is 17).
I have heard a rumor that some version of a Porsche in this era used the same style joint, but with the bigger stud, perhaps on a higher powered car.
The following photo is indicative of the style I am talking about.
Thanks in advance.

Charlie Arms are aftermarket control arms machined out of forged billet aluminum. Quite a bit stronger than the stock aluminum A-arms on these cars. They use a 19mm pin instead of the 17mm and require machining the steering knuckle to accept the pin.

Not to say they are rebuildable for the late models which had the aluminum control arms. They are just starting to be rebuildable stock aluminum control arms but in the past it was new or new.
