Torque tube bearings only lasted for 2k after rebuild!

Can't rule out counterfeits but it's unlikely.
As for the location of bearings - here are the locations where they had been the first time I took them out and also where I put them back last time.
I've now ordered standard SKF 6006-ZZ/C3. No special greases, clearances etc, we'll see how they hold up.

Pfarah I've seen this draft before and it doesn't add up. 62 3/4 + 12 1/8 + 1"(width of bearing carrier) is 75 7/8. My torque tube is only 67.2" long. Even if the bell housing is included it wouldn't add up.
Yes the bearings need to be C5 but those are unavailable.

If I remember correctly, my TT was well over 6-7 feet in length..How long was yours again, Kaspar?? .Perhaps the driveshaft itself is 5ft7" (67"), but the overall length of the housing is longer than that. Like I said, only if I remember correctly.. It's been several years since I did mine. BTW, as everyone has probably found out in the past, the driveshaft itself only goes in one way..from front to back. When driving it in, be careful about mushrooming the pilot shaft end..I used a piece of wood, 2X4, and it still mushroomed. Perhaps someone can 3 D print some sort of polypropylene driver just for this, to protect the driveshaft nose, and rest on the splines instead of the nose itself...thinking out loud here..

How about a short piece of pipe, inner diameter bigger than the pilot, but smaller than the inner spline diameter. Upgrade: weld it to an old clutch hub for centering so the pilot can never make contact.

Beef in the UK and Ireland is fully traceable back to the individual animal. (This was done some time back in response to mad cow disease and the fear that it could lead to CJD in humans. I don't know if it was extended to other foodstuffs or not.)
