Very nice looking car -- I also like that spoilers on the 91 944s much better than those on earlier years. Good luck with the sale!

Wow, so it is an original Zyclam car! Ok, thats only 4 cars of Zyclam we know of. (or i know of...) Yes, thats an ULTRA rare color. Have you ever taken it under direct flaurescent light? It should change to a totally different hue. Just like LM5N, the cobalt i have turns 100% purple. The Zyclam should show some interesting shades. Isnt the secondary metal flake in it pink or something?

Haha, Anders called me a paint code junkie! HAHA, thats pretty funny. Ive just ended up keeping track of some of the really rare colors. I wish i could find a factory document stating how many were made. There are not many at all world wide. Its just funny how a standard color just doesn't get picked when offered.

It turns sort of a purplish color to a black color. Its funny i never really paid much attention to it until you mentioned it. As for the pink flakes i never really noticed any.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Do you have a white LED flashlight ? Or true HID headlamps on a car? Shine it direct on the paint on a flat edge and get up close and move your head around. There is the primary color, the metal flake similar in color, and then there should be a second and/or third metal flake color present.

Lawn Gnome just got his 944 painted Black Magic Pearl, i have the color on my VW. When you look like this the color is black, but the metal flakes are yellow, blue, and purple. Together they give the full color effect.

Same with Zyclam and Cobalt. Cobalt has different blue and purple flakes. I cant remember Zyclam, but i thought it was red / pink / purple against the burgandy paint. I could be wrong though.

I believe there is a green color that worked like that as well in 1991, i will have to check my references.

Oh, and has anyone here seen the 996 Millenium Edition released in 2000? There arent many of them. They all had special "effect" paint. It was a weird green/brown/black combo or something.
