@Gasngo : Have you watched the Ed Redas video on cleaning and refurbishing the fuel sender? It looks like a pretty straightforward job, especially for someone with your skills/experience.

Cheers

Z I have not seen the Eds video I have watched a couple maybe I did and did not catch the name. And thanks for the skills /experience comment. I managed to get the unit apart and one of the wires was broken and rust was beyond what I would want to work with. I have cleaned quite a few of those during my career. Ill say the diesel units where always pretty serviceable since its more oil based. Usually thick crud but a rinse and on the way. Gas stuff it all depends. I dont think it would worth the time to bring back even if I succeeded I dont think it would last long. That being said I did find a link/in depth research that took me to this place.
https://fuelsafe.com/sending-unit-fuel-sender/ Clarks Garage site had some specs and this ought to fit. PSmurf Ill shout at ya.
Ill say this my wife says you spend to time on the PC. Well a couple of hours this morning saved anywhere from 250 to bucks. Ill goo back and look for the rabbit hole but it came for this forum.

Thanks I will follow along. I cannot tell a lie I gouged a chunk off my right hand near my small finger and its pretty sore. I need to run out of down a day or two so heal up and back at it. Sadly I do window cleaning so not much break for the hands but Im stoked to get ahead of the game. Crazy as it sounds its a entry level car and I would have never imagined I would get back into the game but Im pretty dam excited to get it on the Rd. But probably more than anything is the overall visual condition of the car. That gets me motivated and Ya I got lucky finding a solid unmolested unit. I need to provide batter pics! and will do.

Its not that bad. If you are actually looking for a 944 take you time and find one. I think everybody here would suggest if your budget allows it to find the best example you can afford. No doubt if you can find someone who has records or evidence that they have made a effort to maintain even better.

I have been away for the project for a few days with work and family in town for early Christmas Oh and a gout flair up AARRGG. Ill be back at it today hopefully.

Heres a alternative for the fuel sender. https://fuelsafe.com/sending-unit-fuel-sender/

Ill be back!

Default Budget and Documents

Thanks for imput. I always wanted one. Had e30's, an e28 and currently a complete 87 e24. All on a limited, no sleeping on the couch budget. Oh and a Reatta

Thanks again,

Good luck
