taj ma garaj update...
my best friends dad is one of dixons close friends.. anyways this is the word i got today.
basically the carrera GT is being bult as we speak, and dixon has aranged that it be flown over from germany, so it can make the cruzers on time (yes.. flown over)
and guess what he did just to hold himself over in the mean time.. he is picking up a new GT3 this weekend. too bad hes probably just gonna polish it and put a cover on her
either way.. it must certainly be nice to be john dixon!

Hoffman,
The GT3 is here right now.. It came in today at 2 pm.. I was just down there checking it out. The car is Quite something.. I have a some photo's i'll post later..
Yes if you guys want to see some serious STUTTGART metal come to the 2004 Taj Kruzers.. it is a blast and will be a great event.
The Carrera GT will also be there..
I like the GT3 better though... but the 73 RS and the 550 Spyder are by far the best in his collection.. Yeah the GT3 is for sure a drivers car.. but Mr D has his reasons for not driving the cars....
Later!
Hope to see you guys at the 2004 Kruzers!!!!!!

wow!
i do have one question though.. Kenny and i were talking about the colection after he told me about the gt3.. now i know the cars are perfect show cars, but they never get driven... so how are the engines in his cars, dosent it hurt the engines, rings and things when they arent driven?

Harry,
Yes it would be harmful to allow them to sit with out running them for long extended periods of time.. but the cars are all started and run .. He simply won't run them out on the roads unless the weather is perfect and he does this for a good reason.. he doesn't own any real run of the mill Porsche cars... they are all either perfect or perfect and VERY Rare! hahah so he simply takes care of them.. but he does run the cars.. he simply does not use them as daily drivers.. he has others for that task.
Trust me when I say he will not allow anything bad to happen to these cars..
Oh yeah!! and yes! the 550 is my ALLl time favorite! it is simply one hell of a car.! PURE Porsche the way they were meant to be! raw! and simply BAD!
Hope you can make the Taj Kruzers.. bring all your friends..

thats cool, and i understand why they are not driven. i was just curious about how well they are mechanicaly since they sit 99% of the time.
whats goin on with the 550 anyways.. i heard he wasnt going to touch it to keep its history etc, and then last i heared he was gonna do a rull resto?
also.. has john ever thought of getting any of the other vintage racing porsches.. 904, 906, 917?
i cant wait to see the collection again

The 550 is going to get a FULL resto.. by the same guy that restores the Factory cars for Porsche AG...
So it will be going back to it's French racing blue that it roll out of the factory with. that is bit later as the guy who will be doing the work has his plate full for now.
As for Porsches with race history... yeah he is always open to getting one if he can find the right car.. he does have a ROTHMANS 951 cup car...
He had his eyes on a 911R a while back ago...but someone robbed him in the sale! so it got away! that would have been a KILLER car to own.. but there was also a 904 he was looking at that well who knows maybe one day he will get it .. but for now the one he wants is not for sale.. but ya never know...
I agree race cars are sweet cars to have in a collection..
