Beautiful example, enjoy it

The S2 was the only naturally-aspirated car I once owned which I wish I had kept.

I had the same problem with my S2 recently, but mine were in much worse condition. I could not find any replacement that fit correctly in the Porsche plastic mounting bracket. First I bought a pair of rear 1986 Turbo Blaupunkt speakers on eBay that look great, but they didn't fit either, so ended up buying new speakers from Porsche, which I have not yet installed. They don't look like they much... so I'm not expecting great sound, but at least they fit with the stock covers.

@Tom Pultz : People on the 928 forum have had good experience getting the original speakers refoamed. I was able to listen to the original system in a 1990 928 GT that had undergone the treatment and it sounded great. The original speakers are not so bad but, admittedly, I am no audiophile.

Cheers

I already trashed my old speakers as all the foam was shot and the paper cones were also damaged. The new ones were about $60 each, which is less than the new grill covers. I think Porsche recently added these speakers to the catalog as I recall looking in the past and they were not available. Oh well, at least they will look nice from the outside.

Sorry....but if you ever listened to a real sound system, you would know how **** poor that 4x6 is. Add to that the fact that it is way under powered. it is impossible for it to sound "decent" much less good.
