Who drives their 944 every day?
How many miles per week. I am thinking of driving it to work now, about 300 miles per week (all highway). How reliable are they on a daily basis? Will I get better gas mileage than my 6 cyl BMW? Thanks.

I've driven my '83 daily for 19 years. It has been very reliable. I drive about 25 mi/day total roundtrip. Plus another 10 miles a day for lunch. Anyway, I go through about a tank of gas a week with all the other running around, too.

It's a Porsche, man! Not a Ferrari!
It's MEANT to be driven!
It makes me so sad to see people "collect" cars that don't get driven.
Anywho...chances are the fuel mileage will be just as good if not better than the '98 M3, assuming she's healthy.
And for the reliability, you have to answer that for yourself! If you have been good with routine and preventive maintenance, then drive her like you stole her and enjoy every mile!

I drive mine every single day, and have driven every 944 I've owned on a daily basis. Can be reliable if well maintained. MPG for me is about 21 or 22 in the city with some spirited (ie, redline) driving thrown in for fun.

I drive mine every day, about 65 miles a day. The only real issue was last week when my difrential went out. I have been driving for over a year, every day 65 miles round trip.
Great car to drive every day.

I drive mine everyday, the turbo has more to break and go wrong, so it takes that opurtunity to screw with me every once and a while, I think she finds it funny, but I still love the car.

I would drive mine everyday except my ins. only allows 8k miles a year. I took my car out two weeks ago didn't want to stop driving, but after 1200 miles in two weeks I had to put her back again. If I wasn't restricted milage you bet I'd drive it everyday.
