Default R406A refrigerant

The car was retrofitted with R406A by a previous owner and the system is empty. I wasn't going to worry too much about A/C but if its an easy fix to get re-charged I'll go for it. Anybody have experience with the stuff.

My searchs point to conflicting information. Two USA sites, one is www.autofrost.com/ apparently a manufacturer, another Corrado club, these indicate its a good conversion as it is a drop in, but may cause problems with seals. Another site in spain say no way should r406a be used for automotive application. I did a search on the company that did the conversion and all I come up with is that they were charged by Environment Canada for banned use of CFCs.

I just re-read the thread A/C question. 3Zbra mentioned envirocool, I'm thinking that may be r406a
