how too's
need two quick fixes, one is the sunroof gear....on an 85.5, i need a location and tools required, two is the mirror glass on same model 944, are there clips for the mirror or does it pop right in? also my new rears have no clearance and hit the well on every slight bump and turn, any springs out there that will correct this, already have spacers on there? thanks in advance.

Three Wheelin'
Try here: 944 Sunroof
The mirror glass is locked onto the drive head with a locking ring. You can unlock the glass by inserting a small flat tipped screwdriver through the bottom of the mirror surround (look for a small hole) and then use the tip of the screwdriver to move the ring. The lock ring doesn't move very much, so don't get carried away.
When you get the glass out take a look at the drive head. You should see four "ears" with a very small protrusion in the center. These protrusions match up to depressions on the back of the mirror glass. If you do not align the protrusions with the depressions the glass will not "catch" the locking ring.
For the rear wheels, what offset are they? My old '84 used 23mm offset wheels with spaces on the rear, my '86 951 also uses 23mm offsets, and my '87 NA uses 53mm offsets.
