Default Right side Speaker's intermittently cut out

Hey rennlist,
I have a bit of a peculiar problem. The right side of my 10 speaker equipped 944 intermittently cuts out. On-road trips the right side of the vehicle's speakers can cut out for hours at a time. However, as of recent, the right side has failed to wake up at all. With this in mind, my first thought was a bad connection behind the amplifier or head unit, after cleaning contacts and confirming continuity with all terminals I pivoted and begin testing whether the amp was powering the right speakers. By using the functional left speakers I plugged their leads into the amplifier's right speaker terminals. This yielded volume thus proving that the amplifier was functional. Now that I have confirmed that my problems are down the line, does anyone know what is in between the amplifier and the speakers? Any modules that can go bad? Does anyone happen to have a ten-speaker wiring diagram?

Any thoughts are welcome! Thanks!

Are you sure it's not the head unit?

Intermittent like that definitely suggests oxidised contacts. Try turning the volume all the way up. If the right speakers come back, then it's definitely corrosion, and probably in the door (as that's the dampest location).

Possible broken wires in door hinge area.

Yes, I believe this test ( found in the video confirms the amp/head units operation)

I stole this from another thread, but I think this might be the correct wiring diagram. It looks like the amp goes to connector T18 which connects to the door wiring harness. Inside the door the wires go to a three way crossover, then out to the speakers. If the other functions in the door work I would ignore T18 and go inside the door. Check continuity from the head unit to the wires going into the cross over. If you have continuity there it is probably your crossover that has gone south. If no continuity you have a bad connection somewhere down the line, possibly at T18 - check continuity there to see if the break is before or after the connection. As PaulD-944s2 said it might be at the bend where it enters door.

I mentioned because the CR-1 I had in my 944 had significant corrosion in the balance rheostat where one channel or the other would cut out. YMMV of course.
