From what's been said before the lower dash pieces don't come off. Maybe you could put the top piece from the 968 on your S2 lower dash..if that's possible? I don't know I've never taken the dash apart before.

I wouldn't say all 944 dashes are cracked..mine is flawless..you just have to keep it conditioned. I also had a carpet dash cover on it from the PO. I took that off now though and just lay it on when the car is going to be sitting in the sun for any length of time.

SeattleS2, Where did you find a quote for a new dash around $1200? Like you, I also have a Baltic Blue/Linen 1989 944S2 coupe with a few proverbial cracks and have been looking to replace or renew the dash.
However, when I made a couple of calls about buying a new dash, the quotes I rcvd were around $3000 (ouch). If you can direct me to a new $1200 blue/linen dash, you'd be my hero for at least a week. :-)

If anyone else out there knows where I can pick up a dark blue/linen dash in excellent condition, feel free to drop me a line.

Thanks, Jim
