Default Removing Loctite 574???

What's the best solvent for removing old dried 574 from aluminum housing mating surfaces, without damaging powdercoating on the closely adjacent external areas?

According to the factory manuals, when you apply 574 to seal when you reassemble, the new 574 dissolves the old 574, so no need to clean it.

91S2 -

Adrian's correct, though I've been known to take a little emery cloth to clean the stuff up a little. Just get all that DUST off there if you do this.

HTH!

Would a straight razor blade work? Followed by a little emory cloth?

I've noticed that Loctite doesn't like heat, it flakes off when burnt.
Maybe a soldering iron and a plastic scraper?

I've always used a utility knife blade and then some Scotch Brite.
