Pardon my ignorance, can I ask some questions:
Will the car be running when you sell it?
Can I presume your on the east coast?
Can you drive the car on the street?
How much will you be asking?
Thanks
The car will be running when sold, its having the elctical issues worked out now, and should be good to go after that.

The car is street legal in NC, not to sure about cali.

I don't know what i'll be asking yet, the total in the car is up there:

$7,500: Car
$3,100: Vitesse Stage II Kit (plus quick spool)
$3,800: Leda Coil Overs
$500: Welt Sway Bars
$2000: in Brake upgrade (996 TT Calipers, SS lines, hubs / spindles, tie rods)
$800: CS Seats
$1200: Boxster S wheels
$300: Greddy Profec A
$550: LR Exhaust
$200: Boost Gauge, AF meter, Gauge Pods
$150: 5pt Harnesses (yet to be installed)

Then things like the LSD, Hatch, GT Racing splitter, etc......

Including instal of the parts we are around 25k into this 951....

Yes I know I'm not going to get 25k out of it, but I would like to get something thats fair... any ideas?

And as a side note, if someone was going to want to do some sort of trade to keep cost down I would be happy to keep the 996 TT brakes / CS seats...

I would also conisder partial trades on stock 951's (or close to it)....

Its a great car, but I'm afraid you're going to take a big hit on the sale. Like $10K at least. If this is the car you want, you should keep it.

Pardon this question, if its a dumb one, but I'm new to 951s and this forum: what is the thing sticking out the front? Is that for towing the car?

Yes that is the tow hook, its in the factory tool set and using it means hopefully no damage when pulling her up onto a roll back...

Why not keep the car? I know you said it sounds dumb keeping it locked up for three years due to having no time. You know what though, i bet that boost is gonna be the perfect relaxation from work and those classes! Once or twice a month if you have an hour or two, fire it up and forget about everything else! Or put a battery charger, etc..., kind of semi-storage and drive in once every couple months if thats all you can. Time goes by fast. Having that car around when you want it will really be rewarding. And not driving it means you kinda forget what its like after a long while, so getting back in it will keep that "first day" feeling for a long time!

The tow hook made me wonder if it was a track car only, if it is legal in NC it is most likely legal in CA.
I am not trying to lead you on... I email one guys with a few questions about his 968 then he got all pissed when I didn't run out and buy his car.
Also know that it is all about money... I would HAVE to sell my car to buy another, no way I can afford maintenance on TWO Porsches!
What I am really looking for is a S2 or a 968... although a radical 951 like yours just might just fill the bill.
Email me when/if you decide to sell and we will see if it can happen.

I keep my car in storage back home while I'm at school. I've had it for 2 years now, but really I've only driven it for about 8 months. Trust me, you'll want to keep it even if you can't drive it every day, it's a great escape.

If you can swing it financially I would keep the car... put it away properly, and it is the reward for finishing the MBA! You are only going to regret selling the car in the future.

I think the desire to keep the car will go up as soon as I drive her again, it has been far to long, and I think all the points about why I should keep the car are valid. But with that said if the right buyer came along willing to pay for such a unique car then I would have to take the funds. Then when time / money allowed get back into the 951 or maybe the 924 GTS or 968 Game again.

Thank you for all the comments...
