What do you mean by spacing?

To be clear all the rear arms whether steel, early aluminum or late aluminum are the same track if that’s what you mean, so there’s nothing to worry about, and the offset is determined only by the rear hubs/stub axles. The track always remained the same, it’s the offset that changed.

If you have a 1986 951 complete rear assembly just use that and you can still fit late offset Porsche wheels as the “spacing” won’t change one bit.

As for the fitment, when you order rear dampers there are two different types, one fir the early cars and one for the late. So there is some sort of difference between the two and I think that difference is why the 30 series Konis won’t fit.
