944 leather steering wheel sealant
Hello, Recently had my 87 944 steering wheel recovered. Would like to know if anyone has applied a sealant to a newly recovered steering wheel to prevent scuffing or scratching. If so, what brand is the best sealant. Looking to preserve my newly recovered wheel for the future. Thank you in advance for any ideas you may have to offer. WMS

I wouldn't seal. Leather should be cleaned and conditioned. If you are really concerned about the leather, you could always use driving gloves so that the oil transfer is on the inside of the gloves and not to the wheel itself.

Now that you know how to get it recovered, drive it for another 30 years and then do it again....
(I suspect even steering wheel leather has a clear-coat, so it's already sealed.)

Leatherique is one of the better leather conditioner/protectors on the market.I've been using it on the leather sport seats for over ten years on my 89 911 , as well
as on the 930S leather steering wheel and it does what it's supposed to do.I also use it on my Subaru's leather wheel as well as my girlfriend's Nissan Juke.
This product is not silicone based , that's the last thing you want to put on leather ...
