im trying to change out my head unit with a new blaupunkt, and in taking the wiring apart i found a black box tied into the wires to the old unit. i have no clue what it isl, the only thing on it is a little cover that says fuse that pops off. box is about 2"x3"?? thanks. the PO did put a newer blau. in back in the 90's

I have a mid 90's Blaupunkt in my car - I think this box is a fuse and power supply filter. It came with the radio.

A lot of units now have the fuse and some filters in a nice little box. My Alpine has the same thing.
