This was a very hard decision to make. My girlfriend and I talked it over for the past few weeks and I've come to a decision. My 1987 944S is going away.
Before you ask how much, let me tell you a little about my car:
112,000 miles
Brand New Cams (ok, 1,500 miles on them)
Valve job done with cams
New chain and tensioner with cam
New valve guides installed with cam
Water pump, all rollers, tensioner, belts etc.. replaced with cam job.
Centerforce spring clutch installed at 90k or so
new CV joints installed with clutch
Intake and cam cover powder coated lip-stick red
Upgraded to 951 brakes, all OEM parts off a 1987 951 (non-M030)
Super Blue fluid installed
I'm the 3rd owner. 1st owner traded the car in for another porsche, 2nd owner traded the car in for a BMW
Never seen snow (ok, it's seen snow when I've opened the garage door in winter)
Never raced, Auto-x twice
Koni yellow's all around
Front springs upgraded to coil-overs via Paragon coil over kit
250# front springs
LSD - Factory
ABS
Original 16" 928 style wheels were ordered by the 1st owner at time of purchase - actual 944 wheels not 928.
Shift light - gotta have a shift light
Original window sticker with full delivery price of $42,000
Sunroof
Pictures can be seen at: http://www.erik27.com/mycars/
As you can see in the pics, there is no engine in the car. I threw a rod bearing November of 2001.
So, here is what else comes with the car:
Complete shortblock for a 944S
Original block with crank (sold the rods and pistons)
Its has been in a climate controlled showroom since the day it threw the bearing.
Get this POS off my hands, please. Right now I'll entertain any offer over $500. BUYER ARRANGES ALL SHIPPING.
PLEASE DON'T PM ME, (my mailbox is full and I'm too lazy to clean it out right now.)
I'll let this ride for a few weeks so anybody interested can see this post. I'm not doing eBAY, I'd like to keep this car "In the family"
EDIT - I've changed my mind. $500 takes the car. Anybody interested say so here and I'll put all of your names in a hat. I'll draw a name tomorrow or late tonight. Whenever I get home.
EDIT - I now have a complete good engine torn apart in my basement that's included. Assemble the motor, drop in...have a very nice 944S in the garage.

Geez - that cylinder looks pretty bad; it's probably going to need a new engine alltogether. Still though, why so cheap? I've seen nicely rebuilt engines going for about 2500 - 3000 on ebay. Why not just get one of those and save yourself trying to rebuild that junk one?

Maybe I didn't explain very well. I have a "spare" 944S 2.5 shortblock that is in excellent shape to be mated up with my head. The original block is in that picture.
I was going to put new bearings and rings in the new(used) shortblock. But I'm sure you could just bolt the head on.
Another note, the cams are not installed in the head. I bought 16 new lifters to be installed that are still in the factory package. They do come with the car (cams and lifters).

Interested, not sure where I'd put it, but definetely interested assuming this isn't an April fools gag.
So put my name in the hat... and let me know if there's anything I can do to bypass the hat (more $$ specifically).

Dang...if it wasn't so far away, I'd take it in a heartbeat.
No April Fool's Day joke here? (sorry, but it is AFD....and it almost seems too good to be true....)
