Default Anyone still selling 87- front strut conversion kits?

It appears that Paragon and 944Online are both only offering the "we'll do it for you" option. Is the kit still available anywhere?

(Is the rubber sleeve the only thing in the kit that's not supplied with the inserts? Is it just a section of bike inner tube?)

Paragon stocks the conversion kit or will cut and drill the strut for you for a little extra. The “kit” is just the insert, some spacers, washers, nuts and a Koni instruction leaflet. The rubber sleeve thing is a Paragon addition but you can use whatever you want to prevent dirt/water ingress.

Btw the Bilstein insert conversion kit is also still available but only from Australia, pretty quick shipping though.

If you have factory Koni struts, they can be rebuilt by Koni.

Same for my 968; I have the Bilstein conversion kit, just waiting patiently until Bilstein has strut inserts available. Latest I have heard is probably May.

Did you go with the weld-in adapter from New Zealand or the weld-in motorcycle exhaust nut?

Another question for you guys: where do the Bilstein B6s fit in relation to the adjustable Koni's on full-soft?

The Konis are valved much more aggressively than even the upgraded Bilsteins. If you are not going above a 250lb front spring rate you will like the Bilsteins better than the Konis on a street car.

For Bilstein (when they are available again) the options are part no’s 34-000403 and 34-001042. The 34-001042 has higher rated rebound better suited to uprated springs. The 34-000403 work great with the stock springs.

It’s a kit made by @beamishnz that lets you use the Bilstein inserts instead of the Koni ones. It’s basically a very nicely machined weld-on adapter that makes your late struts like the early struts with easily removable inserts held it place by a stock Porsche screw on cap.

Hey MAGK944 Thanks so much for the heads up and the kind words. I've been supplying this kit for a few years now and had very positive feedback. A critical part of the conversion is to ensure the stock struts are cut at the right length and that the collar is inserted the the right depth. I supply a cutting guide wit the kit which greatly facilitates this and the collars themselves are designed to self locate at the correct point in the inner tube to give you the perfect result. The also come with clear instructions. The collars are $49USD each ($98/pr) and worldwide shipping is a flat rate $29.75USD regardless of quantity. PM me if anyone needs any further information. Kind regards Paul

Definitely Paul's kit from New Zealand. Fantastic quality, the only holdback is supply of the strut inserts from Bilstein. One point with the Bilstein conversion, bump rubbers are not needed since the Bilstein's have those built-in internally. Also, the Bilsteins come with their own dust boots.

Bilstein's are shipping in EU.

Any luck State-side yet?
