Green Oil

Since I have owned my car I have noticed drops of green oil on the AC clutch pulley. This compressor was replaced with a dealer part at a Porsche dealer about a year before I bought the car.
Is the oil in the AC system green?
Is it a problem that it appears to be leaking out of the front seals on this almost new dealer compressor?

Usually the oil is clear but dyes in the system are often green or purple so it probably is. Does the system still work? It would be unusual for it to leak oil and not freon.

It still works. I had a condenser leak last year and replaced it with a used unit. Recharged with 134A and it has been fine. The green oil was present when I bought the car (Freon 12 charge).
Here is a pic.

I was thinking the same thing, looked like antifreeze to me...but i have no idea what the oil in the A/C system looks like. May want to poke around the radiator hoses, see if anything is cracked.

I thought that too but when you pinch it between your fingers it is slippery and doesn't have that old inner tube smell of coolant. Wouldn't coolant evaporate eventually? This stuff is there for weeks. It is on the back (gap between compressor body and clutch) and front sides of the pulley.
I plan on flushing the system soon and will switch to a different color.
There is no other coolant leaking anywhere and not a drop of anything when I park it for weeks over a fresh piece of cardboard. Not bragging as. like all these cards, this car oozes oil from various places and has a never ending power steering wetness but no coolant drops yet.

It's probably the compressor ester oil with some dye in it. I had one leak and continue to work also. If you want to be sure, use a UV lamp to ID the source. Mine was leaking at the hose attachment plate on top of the compressor. Tightening the bolts did the trick.

That could be phosphorescent dye mixed with the refridgerant used to show leaks (shows up under UV light) Take it back to the dealer, the compressor seal could be leaking (raise hell)

Looks like the front seal on the compressor is leaking. This could happen for a number of reasons (age, belt on too tight, etc.) Don't dealer parts have a 2 year warranty? Maybe they can help?
