Looks like a very intersting paint job on the 944 in pic 27. How did it look in person?

Server should be up. I'm hosting the site, not sure why it's down for some people.

Times really vary... the guy in the E46 comes to all the autox events and is on sticky tires I believe.

On a course like this a well prepared 944 n/a will beat a turbo just because of the nature of the course. Very tight with short straights.

short straights, whadda call that shot before the chicago box? you know the box where your brother picked up a cone and dragged it (kicking and screaming of course) about a half mile.

the same place i picked up a cone smack with the center of the car after I threw it into a schweeet 360 and had a choice of putting it in reverse which meand off course or getting that sucker smack in the middle of the bumper.

No problem.... I was i your exact same position last year when I tried out Bernard's 1D and 300mm f/2.8 L. $8k of equipment in my hands is always fun.

Just a word of advice, I wouldn't consider any 38-300 quality glass. Any all purpose full focal length zoom lens like that will sacrifice quality. Watch out for vignetting especially. Anything you buy will be leaps and bounds better than your existing camera... but I do notice a considerable difference between my cheaper lenses and my Canon L f/4.

Definetely go for the Drebel or the Nikon D70. Both are great entry level SLRs. PEace

Yup: I knew it: the Mullet can't turn:

Looks like that picture was taken SECONDS before the life of another innocent cone was taken....

And notice the skid marks to the right of the car -- I think that's where most of the cars were going in that turn.... hehehe....

-Z-man.

Apologies to Tom in advance....
