Question I can't figure out my wiper blades!

It's finally time to replace the windshield wiper blades on my '90 944S2. The current wipers I've been using are the conventional style and have squeaked LOUD since day 1. When looking for new wipers, I've been pretty confused on just what to get. I'm pretty sure that it uses 19 inch wipers on all 3 (although I'm not 100%). I've heard great things about the Bosch ICON wiper blades, so I went to Bosch's website and it lists 19A as my size, although they also sell a 19B that is usually used as a passenger side only to go with a 19A for the driver's side. I can't tell if this means I use a 19A for all 3 of my wipers, or if it only has a recommendation for the front. In addition, I have read that some people have had issues with the more modern beam-style wipers on 944s, something about the arms not having enough tension. As you can tell, I'm quite lost at this point so I was hoping you all could give me some recommendations! I just want to know it will work so I can get rid of that awful squeak every time the wipers move.

Thanks!

I've been using Bosch Icon wipers on all of my cars and SUV's for years. They are a great blade IMHO...I presume that you would use 2 on the windscreen and 1 on the rear window. I would use the 19a on the rear window, unless someone else jumps in with a different idea. The hook system on the cars is compatible with the Bosch blades. Try the standard (older) Icons rather than the newest "ultra" blades as they might be easier to install. If you go to an Autozone store, they will install them for you, at no charge, if you let them and dispose of the old blades. Depending on the snow and ice in your area, they should give excellent service. If it snows or is freezing rain, pop the wipers out from the windshield so the rubber section of the blade is not frozen to the windshield which might result in damage to the blade. Hopefully your car is stored inside and this won't be a problem. Just some thought..hope this helps some.

Take it for what it's worth, but I've been going the route of just replacing the inserts and using PIAA silicone components. It started because on the wife's car, replacing the whole armature from companies like Trico or Bosch gave me something way less beefy than that Subaru had designed for the car, and I wanted to stick with what (presumably) the engineers wanted for the car.

They've been pretty good, even here in the terrible winter we've had this year.

Cheers

19" all three is proper but I actually use 18" in front both sides. This is because I like the old school metal-framed blades (more for the look really) and they seem to work better in 18" than 19".

They are the cheapest blades and I change them once a year

PS: interesting fact.. last year I bought HELLA branded cheap metal blades from Amazon--$4 CDN each. They are still wiping clean.. best I've had in a while
