Has anybody hooked up a DAS in a 944 before? Specifically I am wondering about locations to mount the unit and display in addition to sensors for throttle, steering, wheelspeed, oil pressure, engine speed (tach) and possibly a thermocouple for the calipers.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

I'm guessing the "DA" is for data aquisition....but what the heck is the "S" for. I was thinking about using a DAU in my car for troubleshooting purposes...to graph sensor readings through the RPM range/idle/WOT etc... Nothing I would want to keep in there perminently though. They have thermocouple functions and I'm pretty sure you could count pulses off the ignition for tach type measurements. They also have switching functions so if you felt frisky you could have an in car setup to run open or closed loop (maybe the S is for switch?). If this is even close to what your thinking about research a load of Danno's posts...he's always posting what proper sensor readings should be.
or then again DAS could stand for Dead Animal Seatbelts....?!? never know when road kill needs a lift.

It would seem that if you want to put a DAS, then you might was well go ahead and get a full MoTeC setup with the aquisition stuff already in it.

You might want to look into a Stack System.
One a side note, I just hooked up an Electronic Autometer Speedo to my car. My car is an 84 so it's cable driven. I had to buy an adaptor to hook it up to the gauge. I noticed the Gauge has an Out sensor which maybe act as a speed sensor. I'm going to see if i can hook up something cool to it such as a Revspeed meter etc. I'll have pictures up after my friend finishes my gauge pod.

Right now I already have an AIM Sport MyChron system. Its basically a computer with a display and inputs for sensors...I just have to mount the sensors at the proper locations and a switched 12v power supply. It does not seem as if many people have done this yet on a 944...maybe I'll be the first.
