HEY GUYS, I am sorry to start a new thread on this... but, I am unsure of what is proper. I am moving fron ATL To MCO and I want to tow my porsche, Can I use a front wheel dolly? I have used them many times before, but I am not sure if it is okay on the transmission??? Do the gears turn? I know some cars can not be towed due to the oiling of the transmision.....
Please advise.........

 

Nevermind, Just rented an auto transporter. I feel better with all four wheels on the trailer.

 

What did you tell them when you rented it? With u-haul, you can't say you're using it for a porsche, if I remember correctly.

 

why can't you tell them it's for a Porsche?

 

IIRC theyll tell you the car is too low for the trailer...

 

I used the online reservation thing fron uhaul... I Had no trouble. But... Online it says a 944s2 can use a tow dolly or trailer, but the regular 944 n/a only uses a trailer. I have an "S" That was not an option.....The bastards....... Oh well, we will see what they say monday. (I used a uhaul car transporter before with no problem when I moved from Minneapolis to Atlanta)

 

Use a tow bar. I towed my S by removing the front bumper. Two bolts from underneath and the bumper pulls off. Turn the bumper shocks 90' and you can attach a tow bar directly to the bumper shocks.

Any Pep Boys, Autozone or Walmart tow bar should work.
