pics of Damian's tail light mod (finaly)
well here they are.
the brake lights are a slightly different color through the clear half, but i did a really bad job of getting the red paint onto the bulb that i put in there. In the pictures Damian posted you can see what they look like when you do it right. theres no difference in color.
here damian.... what do you think of this particular angle.... heh
I think what i like most about these lights is how freakin bright they are. theyre not like rediculously bright were they bling people behind you. but they work alot better than stock. Especially when trying to backup, the reverse lights are nice and brights. Damian did an awesome job painting the insides of the light housings with the reflective paint, it really makes them alot brighter. the plastic used to make the lenses is also thinner i think. you can put amber bulbs in the turn signal cell or just keep it clear ( but that may not be legal in most places ). Overall they are great and seeing as how they are just your stock lights just with new plastic and paint you dont have to worry about them not fitting or anything like that.

looks good, Much more modern. I like just the two simple colors. Oh yea? what do the pads have to do with holding on the bumper?????? I thought the shock mounted to the inside of the bumper???? That looks nice too.

hes talking about the end caps. they are held on by the outer bolt form the bumper pad. mine have no problem staying on. they never even move. there are 2 other bolts holding them on underneith

Bumper pads do nothing to hold on the bumper. They just look crummy on the car. I don't know how Brett filled all his through holes and counter sunk bolts. I did the same because one pad was pretty shot and I didn't like the way they looked. I was afraid bondo would eventually fail or crack so just had them welded up flush. Looks 100% better than stock.
If you are talking about where the end caps attach to the bumper, just put silicone on the inside of the bumper and glue the end caps to it. You can always cut the silicone free if you need to get them off.

Why waste the time on the stock bumper, trying to make it look better..! Just spend the $200 and get the GT-Racing rear bumper....I cant satnd the look of the 944 rear bumper...looks ao 80's and sticks out so far...My 02 cents....

iceshark- good tip on the silicone, i didnt even think of that. bondo worked perfectly on mine (so far) btw.
brett- those lights are hot, definitely make the rear look better. IMO you should remove the porsche sticker, i think that clutters it up. lookin good tho player! i'm comin back tomorrow morning at like 6, damien wants to come down, you guys should cruise.. we're gonna figure out what the hell is up with my engine once and for all.

Considering that I've been rear-ended five times, I'm keeping my bumpers as they are, pads and all. 
Anywho, the tail lights look pretty good! Definately better than I had expected. What kind of material is the clear lens made of? I've seen pics of A2 Jettas with white turn signals instead of amber and it looked pretty good. If I can score a set cheap, I'd consider making this swap. Assuming I don't just tint them...

I'm on the fence about the taillights, to be honest...definitely unique, but i dunno yet...what I am planning to do is redout the orange blinker, has to go on a black car IMO...
