Default OT: Girlfriend + Ebay = !@#$%

So my girlfriend asks me to show her how to sell stuff on ebay. Me being the helpful person that I am, helped her set up her sellers account and told her how to word the shipping and payment stuff.
Today she calls me over to her (my) laptop and shows me what she put up for auction last night. It's all my old work Levi's . Those pants and I, we have had some good times. Working on cars, going fishing, working on cars...
I fear I have created a monster. I have to keep all my ebayables under lock and key now. I guess its not like I ever wear them anymore but starting the bid at $2 If I buy them back myself she will probably try to charge me shipping.

Does this stuff every happen to any of you guys??

Easy solution, put her on ebay!

Of course, once you ship her to the winner she will probably do the same kind of thing to him, he'll call you because he wants to return her and you can yell at him!

Just the opposite. My wife discovered "Vaseline glass" last year.

Vaseline glass is regular glass that has been "tinted" with Uraniumoxide to make the glass yellow.

The "cool" part is that because of the Uraniumoxide, the glass glows under black (UV) light.

What I ended up with is a rack style stereo component cabinet full of various pieces of yellow glass iluminated with black lights.

But then again I bought a 951 through eBay this week, so I can't really complain.

I am willing to bet that when the actions end that she is going to try to get me to ship them from the shop.

Dave,
Do you think she would be oversize to go UPS after she is in a box. Maybe I can send her Greyhound freight.

Cliff:
Welcome to my world. My wife has quite the collection of Vaseline glass, and various Lenox peices.

Travis:
Just go on the auction and bid till you win all your pants back.

So far, there are 0 bids on all of your 'retro / vintage' jeans.

I think you have nothing to worry about.

If she weighs >75lbs, you'll have to consider alternate shipping methods. Trust me on this on, I had to ship a 250LB television.

I think you'd need to shrink-wrap her to a wooden freight palette and use Fedex Freight.

Seriously though, those may be too "broken in" for anyone to buy. The listing could be changed to add "several serious oil stains (not pictured) on these jeans/shorts. Bid accordingly!".

It was of he start of the 1963 or 1964 (forget) F1 start at the nurberg ring with Jim Clark on the pole!

Really sweet!

Umm, if it really does bother you that much you could get her to end the auctions while there are still no bids.

It looks like my old jeans may be safe ... Maybe if they don't sell it will spoil her new found interest in ebay-ing stuff.

I think the ebay thing was a compromise in her mind since I would not let her throw them out. I hope they don't sell because those jeans and I , we have a date with some rod bearings coming up.
