In summer when I make intensive use of my 924 A/C I need to increase the engine idle speed to 1200 rpm, so that when the compressor sets in the revs go down to 1000/900 and the engine doesn´t stall.

Is this standard procedure or I´m making a mistake?

I reset the idle speed lower (1000 rpm) and the A/C works fine without inducing engine stall
