Motor oil flush
I wanted to run some oil flush. It says just pour in run engine for 5 min and then drain. Is it safe? Does it make a difference? Plus should I continue to use 10w-40 conventional oil or does anyone recommend changing to a different oil. The car is almost back together and I want to start driving it on a more frequent basis that's why im asking about the oil.

Why do you think you need it? Was the car sitting without running for a very long time? I tend to avoid products like that unless you're using it for a specific purpose with sound reasoning. If you are concerned I would do frequent oil changes as you start driving, similar to breaking in a new engine. Leave the additives and other products out of it.
As far as what oil, you have welcomed a storm of opinions on the subject. Mine (and Porsche's engineers) is to use 20W-50 with high Zinc (ZDDP). I don't drive mine when the temperatures drop so that works for me. 10W-40 is only recommended for very cold climates.

Oil flush? Quality oils have detergents in them and you're always "flushing" when you change the oil. It's why the oil gets so black.
If you live in an inconsistent climate like I do (one day warm, next day freezing), go for a wide range. I've been using a 10w60 forever.. seems to work well
