Hey All,

I ran into a peculiar situation recently and was wondering if anyone would know the answer. While replacing a burnt fog light bulb a couple weeks ago, I noticed a clip on my passenger side connector. The driver's side was missing or... Does this not belong there? I appreciate any feedback, thanks.

 

Does anyone concur with this assessment?

 

When I had my bumper off and was fixing some of the issues on my fog lights, there were, indeed, these kinds of clips for these connections. I don't remember the passenger side very well (which is what I think you're showing) but on the driver's side, there was definitely this kind of clip. However, is was not positioned anywhere near so close to the pass through.

I have started to learn more about some of the differences between the model years, and since my car has the turbo type bumpers, I'm sure it's not apples to apples, but I would guess that clip is supposed to be there.

Thanks for looking! Actually, my 84 has an 86 front bumper but I think the moulded fog light areas are the same or similar. Guess I'll set both cable connectors this way until advised differently.

 

My '83 has those clips on both sides. I checked today. Should be able to be fairly easily sourced from a wrecking yard.
