carpet replacement

hey i was wanting to make all the tannish beige carpet in my car black and i can buy all the carpet pre-cut and everything pretty cheap and what not but what all is involved in replacing it? is it a pretty lengthy and complicated procedure? anyone try this before? thanks

I think it's pretty simple in these cars - just a little glue in places. You'd just have to remove the seats. If you're going aftermarket, expect it to fit wrong and need trimming in places. Also, the side pieces such as the ones that run up alongside the center console have stiffeners / backing plates of sorts that are stapled to the carpet. I doubt the aftermarket kits would have those, so you might have to remove them and re-staple them to the new carpet.
I'm eventually going to replace the carpet in mine (the one in there isn't too bad except for the rear deck, but that's a separate piece), but I'd go with original parts even if they're a little more expensive. I think Ian's has the original stuff for about $400.
