Default Finish of oil cooler

All - what is the correct finish of the oil cooler assembly under the bumper? This is a 1986 951.

I have seen black and silver.

thanks!

Mine is a stock one off of an S2..It was used, and has some black paint on it. I think they were originally located in or near the passenger side wheel well..After I do some front valence mods, mine will be mounted in the air inlet in the front of the car..longer hoses required. I'm sure that you can buff off the black paint except inside where the fins are.

For an 86 951, it would be black. Have never seen one any other color.

Black radiates more heat than any other color. It also absorbs more heat than any other color. Go figure..
