Dealer. If you buy used you get the same worn out axles.

So you did find a problem with the bearings and not the trans.

I think these are the correct numbers:

477 501 263 for steel trailing arms.
951 332 235 01 for aluminum trailing arms before 87,
951 332 235 35 for aluminum trailing arms after 87 (includes 968).

They will be a little expensive from the dealer. Have you tried Ian (www.ianseuroparts.com) in Pompano Beach, FL or George (www.944ecology.com) in New York for their help?

I have some late turbo stub's but they won't help you I don't think.

Thanks Julian. How do you know what the trailing arms are made of?

Your pre '85.5 came with steel trailing arms, aluminum came on cars after '85.5.

Dan, I had to replace one on my 84. I was lucky enough to get a good used one for $50.00. If you go used make sure the bearing surface is smooth. The problem wasn't finding a good used one it was finding a yard that would break up a good trailing arm for the stub. Good luck.
