Stuck Throttle Body Removal from Intake
Any tips on getting the throttle body off the intake? It's not budging, and I don't want to screw it up. I've given it a couple of light kisses with a rubber mallet, but no dice so far.
It's going to head off to Maxbore for some work while I clean up the intake and various other bits that are in the area, but man, it's really fighting me to come off easily.
New o rings are ordered, etc., in preparation for getting everything back together but, like my TB, I'm stuck.
Thanks

So you've got the four M6 bolts removed and it's stuck hard on the o-ring? That's mighty peculiar. I'd just give it a good whack with a rubber mallet on an area away from the linkage.

Thanks, I'll try both of those things, in the reverse order. Kroil has been good to me in the past, so that'll be the first try, then I'll get more assertive with the rubber mallet.

Drifting
Mix a 50/50 batch of acetone and non synthetic atf and brush the seam. As the acetone evaporates, t will suck the atf into the joint.
it doesn't work well with the later mercon types do dextron 2 is ideal

SOLVED!
The issue was some corrosion/gunk build up from the coolant passageways. It also looks the original o rings were still in the TB with neither looking particularly healthy.
I ended up using some Kroil and wiggling it a bit. Once I could see that some of the Kroil which had gone into the joint was getting smooshed out with wiggling I used a rubber mallet to go around the periphery and get things separated.
Cleaning is needed.
Thanks everyone for the help and advice.
