clutch job and pedal feel
hey i just had a new stock sachs clutch put into my car....i was wondering if the clutch pedal is supposed to feel really light because it feels a LOT lighter than when i had the old clutch in....i dont know if it was because the old clutch was pretty bad because it was slipping really badly...anyone have this experience with a new sach's clutch? oh and if you have time please check out my other post on the 924 to 944 fuel rail... I NEED HELP!

You can set the peddle force to what ever you want. Look up under the dash where the clutch linkage is. You should see a push rod inside a spring. There is a nut that is used to set the "pre-load" on the clutch linkage. Takeing tension off of the spring will make the peddle more firm, and compressing the spring makes the peddle "lighter".

I've also heard that the metal fingers of the pressure plate become stiffer over time, so pedal effort may increase accordingly.
Also, there should be a certain amount of freeplay at the beginning of pedal travel, so keep that in mind when adjusting that spring. Check out www.clarks-garage.com for that info, as I can't remember what the freeplay should be.
