The Elise looks great to me....

I am currently taking care of a business guest for a week in my company. He used to work for Lotus and we talk about the Elise quite a bit. Sounds like quite a performer from what he tells me about the car.

the nice thing about their engine choice, is if in the unlikely event you ever decide you want more power, their is a competent aftermarket for the engine and forced induction could be bought in kit form. Very nice. I hope the depreciate rapidly. Nothing would please me more than to see these cars going for $5k in 4 years.

I sat in one at the LA car show in Jan. They are awsome cars, very small and light. 0-60 in 4.9 sec, pulls over 1G on the skidpad, and looks like an exotic. They were taking deposits and delivery would be early summer.

It comes in touring and sport. Its a car to think about, I would take it over a Boxster.

I think any smart person would take it over a *shudder* Boxster anyday...

There was one running with us in a DE at Blackhawk Farms a couple of years ago. Looked great, ran pretty quick, but broke down on the track. Not sure what the mechical issue was.

They are a very cool study in the benefits of light weight.

Cheers,
I was wondering that as well. Notice how the fuel filler doens't look 'normal' for an elise as well?

I love the addition of the Toyota engine. Would be fun to put a turbo kit in that thing giving it ~300hp (talk about NUTS!). Even still...it doesn't need that, it's still an amazing car.

My friend says that the toyota guys are getting some good power with a turbo out of that engine. (350-400hp range) He has a Celica GTS, he has it lowered with a pretty stiff suspension (hotchkiss?) and it handles pretty well. I can only imagine the elise being 100x better. I want.

A car like that, if you added more horsepower, would be buried around you in the ground.

this statement falls flat w/o mentioning the ferrari is a F40. keep in mind that isnt an off the shelf elise....it has been tickled by the darkside (boost!).

some day I will own a vauxhall xv220....its an elise but w/ a vauxhall 2 ltr turbo in it. gimme a min...i've posted links to both vids before...its been a while since i've had a fix....so sabout' time.

vauxhall xv220 site...click on discover sound/vision link...and article

crap F40 and turbo elise video isnt being served anymore...I have it (~33 megs) and a topgear on the vauxhall (44 megs) if anyone wants to serve it.

I hate to admit it, but since we are talking about "these kinds" of cars, I'm surprised by how cool I think the Noble M12 is
