The Excellence article is a good write-up. But, as someone mentioned,
the early cars do not have the pre-drilled holes in either the fenders
or under the car. On my '84 I used rivnuts underneath the car.

I'll be interested to see if my 924S has the pre-drilled holes you guys are talking about!

We'll see...

Would my car have pre-drilled holes? And the only ones i need to drill are on the quarter pannels right? Thanks.

Yes, you are correct. You will need to drill those four holes on the quarter panels, right at the line where the rockguard coating stops.

Erich, I don't think those square holes exist on your 924. I know that the 944 and the 951 shared the same body in pre-production (from 85.5 onwards), that is why the holes are there and the studs for the side skirts. I don't think there was any such need for this on the 924S.

Ohhh We'll have to see, i can always hope! I was surprised when i read the excellence article they actually had the spoiler painted before they fitted it! As soon as i get mine painted i'll document the whole process....

Cant wait!

Recommend you fit and test mount it before paint and final installation.

Thanks for the response Carl. I WILL look for the FR Wilkes site you reference. A little surprised you say to do this as you used the Autothority chip nd some say the chip does nothing for NA exept raise rev liit (I don;t need) and improve low sped driveability - I DO need.

As an aside, I wax at least one panel EVERY time I wash it - weekly. I use Mequire's pure Carnuba or occasionally Mother's. I do this because my dear old Dad taught me that "the sun is going to eat something, if you don't give it the wax it will eat your paint". So I tend to wax the roof, hood and tail panels more than the sides. Thanks again, Carl, love your car.
