Hi,

This is my first post on rennlist. I probably won't post often, but would like to keep in touch with people, hopefully get to know some Columbus, Ohio, area people on the list. I have owned four 944s over the last six years for close to 120k miles, and do all my own work. Most of the miles I have driven a 944 were on an 83, but last spring I found an 85.5 that was exactly the car I wanted. Luckily, and after occasional badgering by me, the owner finally found a reason to part with this beauty last summer, and it became mine:

Look familiar to anyone?

Cheers,

Welcome to Rennlist - 3 cheers to alpine white as well (unless I'm mistaken and it's grand prix of course but that works anyway)

Welcome to Rennlist!

I noticed in your siggy that you have a Lotus Espirit: that's tops on my Wife's list of her next car!

Nice 944, BTW.

Hey Jeremy!

Things are going well! Car has 121k now!!! New motor mounts, radiator fan switch, cv joint, Bosch silber plugs, beru cap and wires, and a lot of little preventative odds and ends, like greasing the electrical connections. Car still clean, strong, tight.

I'm committing myself to Ross County Airport and Kettering for Autox, but will probably do a total of 5 this year - not sure which other ones. I won't be pushing it because I want to baby the clutch to get every last mile out of it.. I acquired a Lancia and will probably bring it instead once it is ready - will be fun to see how it fares against 914s...

If you guys have any get-togethers, drives, etc., let me know!

Thanks for the welcome. When Pete sold me the car, if I recall correctly, he indicated from the option codes that while the car is Alpine White, the wheels (from factory) are Gran Prix White... go figure.

Okay, Lotus photo as requested:

Definitely the most fun car I have ever driven, with physics-defying handling. Unfortunately, it is a handful to keep up, and is just sitting in the garage for now until I have the time.

Cheers,

Even more importantly the Scorpion ..
I've come so close to getting Esprits so many times, but could never find the 'right' one.

Red 944 - I believe I've seen your Scorp in the yahoo group's photos section..(?)

Michael - The Lancia is a recent acquisition and needs some tlc, but should see daily service from May - September, as well as autox and club activities. Looks like the Lotus will be lonely...

Hey Tony, I think I see a speck of dirt on the lower passenger side door. You better run out there and wash it off now!

Just kidding, it's nice to see the old girl again. I'm glad she's treating you well. She was always good to me.

The Fuchs are ****! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love my "big" wheels, but nothing beats a sweet set of Fuchs - that's the only downside to the late offset cars.
