Default Fitting cabriolet seals onto rails

Team - I could use anyone's advice or wisdom about sliding the upper cab seals onto the railings. It gets stuck after a few inches. Ha. Is there a tip/technique or lubricant (must be safe to use on rubber and will dissolve away leaving a tight seal) that is recommended for this operation?

It won't dissolve away, but what about silicone grease? Common names are MolyKote or DC111, I believe. They won't dissolve but they are definitely water resistant and are often used to recondition seals and plastic. Dow Corning makes a hugely confusing array of these types of grease.

Cheers

+1 on using a "personal lubricant" on all rubber products...Verry helpful when putting the TT bearings back in the TT. Also for putting bushings(sway bar) back on the sway bars. Water soluable..

@Tiger and @thomasmryan - I had considered this before posting, but in all seriousness, I want to be sure you all are not joking. I see the potential for this working (..its hard to discuss this with a straight face...) but I don't want the seals coming loose later on due to any residue. I'd guess there is no risk of damaging the seals, so...

Honestly I leave those rubber "cosmetic" internal seals off. They are a real PITA to get back on, and not sure they do a whole lot., other than frustrate me that they don't seem to want to stay on.
