COOLANT IN OIL NEW COOLER SEALS & NEW HG
1986 944 NA is the subject of discussion.
I have Coolant in my Oil. ??? Besides the Head Gasket and the Oil Cooler Seals is there ANOTHER POSSIBILITY???? Cracked Head in NA seems unlikely
I have changed the Oil Cooler Seals (twice in case I rolled an o-ring) (I used the alignment tool and made sure to use the correct metal washer/spacer.) (Old 3 piece OPRV with sleeve, no Oil Pressure Issue)
and
changed the Head Gasket and there is still Coolant getting into the Oil.
I attached a pic of the car as I like posts with pictures better. Also, has my 85 928 in it.

The oil pressure is much greater than the water pressure. If a leak in the oil cooler, the oil should show up in the water coolant. Can easily test by plugging one end of oil cooler, the other end pressurized with 15 psig air and submerge cooler in water bath to see if there is a leak, ie bubbles in water
Did the initial removal of the oil cooler housing indicate a shim was in place? My block had 3 piece OPRV and no shim.
Did you use Clark's Garage install instructions for the oil cooler? Did you check the end for warpage?

Thank you for the ideas T&T Racing. This is actually a buddy's car that I use to own. He bought it from me. I replaced the cooler seals once and we did the head gasket together. I will see about pressure testing the cooler and the other ideas you brought up. Thank you so much for the insight!

The shim is used if the oil cooler is not parallel to the oil cooler mating flange. I used a few thin dabs of sealant on the outside edge of the oil cooler mating flange gasket to hold the gasket in place when installing the housing cover. Also tighten the bolts finger tight and then small increments of increase torque to spec. Was the exhaust header heat shield installed? The heat shield prevents overheating the rubber seal gasket for the flange where the header is closet to the flange.
