Saratoga Sun Roof Option
#2
Oh yea they are pricey, and rare. Toysforyourtoys.com offers to sell them but rumor has it they are better at taking orders than delivering. Do a search on Rennlist for "Saratoga" and learn more than you ever need to know about them.
It is a hot item..

How well do these work? I see them on eBay from time to time as well, but worry about after-market stuff like this. Are there any downsides to them? Are there models they don't fit? Anyone own one that wants to discuss the experience? All the discussion I see of them seems to follow the same pattern:
Thread starter: "Boy, those Saratoga tops sure are gettin' expensive!"
Rennlist: "Yup."

The early models (wide frame) are the less desiracle than the narrow frame later ones. They came in two colors, smoke grey and bronze. I think they only fit manual roof cars, but not completely certain on this point. They can be noisey at speed, especially the early styles. I also understand that toysforyourtoys have never delivered a single top, but they'll sure take your money! Beware!!

There are two sizes, Power and Non-Power top fit. The Power-top ones that fit most 944/968 are rarer and more expensive. It is an awesome option for casual motoring, it lightens the cockpit and makes it look bigger. It is less than ideal structurally and seal-wise, but I love mine. I remove it and put the factory piece back in for track use. As you can see, the e-bay value is over $600. (ouch!)
