Default Averging 23.5 MPG

I have been trying to save gas latley (w/ prices out of control) , so no more redline shifts, or smoking the tires for fun. I have been doing mostly HWY driving and been averging 23.5 MPG.

How much do you guys avg?

~29mpg. 50/50 mix of hwy & 45mph country roads. I run up the RPM's a lot too.

I think that's pretty good. Not sure what mine averages... that's probably close though!

I used to average about 24 mpg with my 944. I haven't been keeping track of gas mileage with the S2. But with the way I drive and with gas at $2.30 a gallon, I'm probably wasting a lot of money!

Ummm... 15mpg.
Sucks, no?
that's what 100psi on all 4 cylinders will do.

I run a stock set-up on my 84 944 NA daily driver. I am pretty diligent about tracking my mileage. I get about 23.5 mpg for my daily 30-mile total commute to and from work (75% highway; 25% city).

The weekend 86 951 with a stock set-up gets about 23+ mpg for city driving, and 27+ mpg for highway runs.

I only can get about 18 mpg with like 80% city driving and 20% highway. Even when I go on the highway, I can only get about 24-25mpg if I just sit it there, anything I can do to up in a few mpg? I already did the wires and plugs. I have a 3 bar fuel pressure set, should I get one I can adjust and move it down to 2.5 under normal driving or even less on a long highway cruise?

I haven't really had a chance to monitor my fuel economy, but if my guage is anywhere close to being accurate I was getting over 30mpg on the highway cruising at about 3000rpms.

I think it might not be that good. I'm definitly going closely monitor a trip or two this spring and see what my actual fuel economy is.

Hopefully my O2 sensor will put my 951 around 23 city and 29 highway like some of the people are getting with the 951. I have been getting around 15-18 city and maybe if I get lucky 22 highway.

I don't have specific numbers but the mileage feels real good. My 951 2.5l has much better mileage than our 2.2l Imprezza. Nothing sweeter than a hi-po rocket running on a few drops
