I'm doing the same just changing out the ps rack to a manual one. I'm stuck at the tie rods ends won't come out time to get a tie rod puller I guess. It's going to be a pain already is lol Well need to wait until dad get home so I can get to the auto parts store to get a tie rod puller. I tried hammer and wolden block but nothing.

I assume you're referring to the tie rod assembly ends, the heavy metal lugs that attach to the steering rack gear.

I've had this happen twice before. They had been glued and would not come undone until after they were heated with a blow torch, and then they slid like butter.

Last summmer I posted a fairly elaborate message on rebuilding the manual steering rack,
see thread: "rebuilding manual steering rack", Aug 2003
There was no replies to it, :-(, so I though it was of no interest to anybody.
Still, you may want to look at it now.
Good luck, Stan

Sorry Stan, it was your write up. I found it in the archives and saved it. Quite interesting!

SEB928s, switching out the PS rack and replacing the manual rack will require changing the intermediate shaft between the steering column and the rack also....
